AUGUST 2017 Research Alert

This month we added four new studies to the Best Practice Database, the research repository for Best Practices, LLC. This month's new studies touch on several trends in the pharmaceutical industry, including real world data utilization, field medical teams and payers and orphan drugs. Two of the new studies come from research regarding how Medical Affairs is using real world data. One of the studies is a case study of the orphan drug Soliris and the tactics and strategies that propelled it to blockbuster status. The last study examines U.S.-based field medical team interactions with managed care customers and presents participants' narratives on key issues around this topic as well as best practices and lessons learned.

	Download: Real World Data and Medical Affairs: Best Practices in Collection, Utilization, and Valuation of Real World Data (5472) Best Practices, LLC undertook this benchmarking research to understand Medical Affairs' role in the collection, analysis and dissemination of real world data. Additionally, this study probes the pros and cons of various forms of real world data and lessons learned in utilizing it.
